The gift of prophecy has not ceased. It’s still valid today. Unfortunately, there are many who falsely claim to be prophets. However, Scripture tells us that we should not despise the gift of prophecy. How do we prepare for it? How do we receive it? And how do we discern an authentic Word from the Holy Spirit? In this series, Charles Simpson, examines the events and prophecies surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ and teaches a biblical foundation for the prophetic word.
CD set includes:
MSG 1: BEFORE WE PROCEED
God is calling to us. He offers us a road to abundance, security, and opportunity if we seek Him while he may be found. How can we find Him? Do we believe Him? In this message, Charles shares that our legacy is not what we build, but what God builds in us and through us.
MSG 2: THE WOMB OF THE WORD
Mary’s response to God’s Word serves as a model to us. We are called to be a receptacle of the Word, letting it grow and gestate in us. The issue is not the messenger or means of delivery, it is the message itself. When God speaks, His Word can test us; if we can receive it, it will deliver us.
MSG 3: THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY
Prophecy does not come out of man but comes down from heaven. It authenticates and testifies to Jesus Christ, the eternal Word. Prophecy gives us a divine perspective. It is accurate. It will reveal and guide. Charles examines the time of Jesus’ birth, John the Baptist, and the Early Church.
MSG 4: THE SAVING WORD OF GOD
The Word of God brings Jesus to your door, but you have to open it. Jesus is the Word made flesh. His name means “Jehovah saves.” He saves us from judgment, death and hell. To save us, He has to bring us to the brutal realities of where we are. Will we be sensitive to hear Him?
MSG 5: DISCERNING THE WORD OF GOD
How can we identify false and true prophets? How can we discern Truth from error? It is a matter of life and death. Charles, gives key attributes of false and true prophets then looks at our responsibilities as hearers of the Word.
MSG 6: THE WAY OUT
We cannot succeed on our own. To overcome destructive situations, we need unity, power, and a clear mission. Where there is unity, God’s power is at work. He can move us beyond our current boundaries and into our mission, but He will not act for us. We must be obedient and take action
