  1. DEFINITIONS
    • “Aggregate Information means information about groups or categories of users, which does not identify and cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual user.
    • “Anonymous Information” means information that does not directly or indirectly identify, and cannot reasonably be used to identify, an individual user.
    • “Application means a program or service operated by us (or on our behalf) that may be displayed on various online, mobile or other platforms and environments, including those operated by third parties.
    • “Children” means individuals who are under 13 years of age.
    • “Browser Cookies” means pieces of information that a website places on the hard drive of your computer when you visit the website. Browser cookies may involve the transmission of information from us to you and from you directly to us, to another party on our behalf, or to another party in accordance with its privacy policy.
    • “Data Controller” means the entity that is responsible for personal information collected from our Services.
    • “Data Processor” means the person or entity that processes personal information on behalf of a data controller and is permitted to perform data processing only as directed by the data controller.
    • “Flash cookies” means local shared objects, sometimes known as Flash cookies, which are cookies that store your preferences or display content based upon what you view on our site to personalize your visit. Our advertisers and third-party service providers also may use Flash cookies to collect and store information.     • “IP Address” means the Internet Protocol address associated with the access point through which you enter the Internet and is typically controlled by your Internet Service Provider.
    • “Personal Information means information that identifies (whether directly or indirectly) a particular individual, such as the individual’s name, postal address, email address and telephone number. When anonymous information is directly or indirectly associated with personal information, this anonymous information also is treated as personal information.
    • “Public Forum” means message boards, comment pages, blogs, chat rooms, profile pages and other forums associated with our Services. If you provide personal information when you use any of these features, that personal information may be publicly posted and otherwise disclosed without limitation as to its use by us or a third party.
  2. SCOPE AND CONSENT
    • This Privacy Notice describes your privacy rights regarding our collection, use, disclosure, sharing, and protection of information you provide or we collect on sites where this Privacy Notice is posted. It applies to any website owned or controlled by Charles Simpson Ministries, Inc. (“CSM,” “we,” “us” or “our”), and to any CSM website, software tool or platform (including third party social networking platforms, e.g., Facebook, or application (including mobile applications) (collectively, “Services”) where this Privacy Notice is referenced, regardless of how you access or use the Services, including through mobile or other devices, or through third-party sites or platforms.
    • By using our Services and/or registering for an account with us, you are accepting the terms of this Privacy Notice and our Terms of Use, and you are consenting to our collection, use, disclosure, sharing and retention of your personal information as described in this Privacy Notice and in our User Agreement.
    • CSM is your data controller, and is responsible for the processing of information we collect about you in accordance with global privacy standards. We may store and process information about you on our computers in the US and elsewhere in the world where our data centers may be located. Other parties may have access to your information as described in this Privacy Notice where they perform services on behalf of CSM (as a data processor) and, unless prohibited under applicable law, for use on their own behalf (as a data controller).
  3. COLLECTION
    • We collect two basic types of information from you and the devices (including mobile devices) you use to access or use our Services – personal information and anonymous information – and we may use personal and anonymous information to create a third type of information, aggregate information. We collect the following types of information:
    • Personal information you give us when you use our Services
      • Identifying information you provide when you create an account (“Account”) with us, e.g., your name, address, telephone number and email address
      • Transaction information you provide when you request information or purchase a product or service from us, whether through our Services, or through the sites or applications of data processors acting on our behalf, including your postal address, telephone number, payment and other financial information required to clear customs (such as Tax ID) and relevant postage information stored by a postal partner acting on our behalf
      • Information you provide when using our Services, including on third party sites and applications
      • Information you provide in public forums on our Services
      • Information you send either one-to-one or within a limited group using our message, chat, post or similar functionality, where we are permitted by law to collect this information
      • Information we may be required by applicable law to request in order to authenticate or identify you or use or verify the information we have collected
    • Personal information we collect automatically when you use our Services
      • Device ID or unique identifier, device type, ID for Advertising, unique device token
      • Geo-location information, including location information from your mobile device.
      • Computer and connection information
      • Statistics on page views, traffic to and from the CSM sites, referral URL, ad data, IP address, and browsing history and web log information
    • Information we collect using Cookies and Similar Technologies
      • We collect information through technology, such as cookies, Flash cookies, unique identifiers, and similar technologies when you use our Services, including on third party sites or platforms. We collect information about the pages you view, the links you click, and other actions you take on our Services, or within our advertising or e-mail content.     • Personal Information from other Sources
      • Information we collect from other trusted or publicly available sources to update or supplement the information you provided or we collected automatically as permitted by law, e.g., demographic or credit check information.
      • Information you provide to us when you use our Services on third-party sites or platforms such as social networking sites, or link your profile on a third-party site or platform with your CSM Account
    • Personal Information from you about Others
      • Information about other people that you provide to us to send others (friends, relatives, colleagues, etc.) a product as a gift, information that may interest them or messages (such as invitations) through our system
      • Information about other people that you provide when you use our Services to upload, share and/or distribute content
  4. USE
    • We, and those acting on our behalf as data processors, may use the personal information we collect as follows:
    • Operate, improve and personalize our Services
      • To provide you use of and access to our Services
      • To provide you the products and services you request
      • Consistent with local law and choices and controls that may be available to you:
        • Personalize content and experiences on our Services
        • Customize, measure, improve our Services
        • Use geo-location information to provide you with location- based Services, such as advertising, search results, and other personalized content
    • Contact you and provide you customer service
      • Communicate with you about your Account or transactions with us or changes in our policies
      • Provide customer support you request for our Services or for the products offered by us
      • Compare the personal information you provide for accuracy, and verify it with third parties as necessary
      • Consistent with local law and choices and controls that may be available to you, send you offers and promotions for our products and services or third-party products and services
    • Customize our advertising communications with you
      • Customize, measure, and improve our advertising messages to you based on your ad customization preferences
      • Contact you, either via email, telephone, text (SMS) messages (if applicable based on your consent), or postal mail, or otherwise as authorized by you to: offer coupons, discounts and special promotions, and inform you about our services and, based on your preferences, third party products and services.     • Detect, Prevent and Mitigate Fraudulent or Illegal Activities
      • Prevent, detect and investigate fraud, security breaches, and potentially prohibited or illegal activities
      • Enforce our Terms of Use or other applicable policies
  5. RETENTION AND DATA SECURITY
    • We have implemented on our Services, technical, administrative and physical security measures that are designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, use and modification. From time to time, we review our security procedures to consider appropriate new technology and methods. Please be aware though that, despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We will retain your personal information for the length of time needed to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
  6. DISCLOSURE AND SHARING
    • We may disclose and/or share your personal information for the following purposes:
    • Service Providers and Financial Institution Partners
      • Third party service providers, acting solely on our behalf, who help us operate our Services, and assist with fraud investigations, bill collection, email communications, promotions, package delivery and shipping, and other business or marketing operations
      • Financial institution with whom we partner to provide joint content and services, e.g., registration, transaction, payments, and customer support)
      • When we share personal information with third parties in connection with the sale of a business
    • Third Parties with whom you authorize us to share your personal information
    • When you allow us to share your personal information with a third party:
      • So that such third party may send you information, offers and promotions about their products and services
      • Site or platform, such as social networking sites
    • Please note that once we share your personal information with a third party for the purposes described in this paragraph, the information received by such third party becomes subject to such parties privacy practices.
    • Law enforcement, legal proceedings, and as authorized by law
      • To comply with our legal requirements, enforce our policies, respond to claims by users
      • To law enforcement or governmental agencies in response to a verified request relating to a criminal investigation or alleged or suspected illegal activity or any other activity that may expose us, you, or any other user of our Services to legal liability.
      • To credit bureaus as authorized by applicable law
      • To respond to a subpoena, court order or similar legal procedure, or we otherwise believe in good faith that the disclosure of information is necessary to prevent imminent physical harm or financial loss or to report suspected illegal activity
  7. YOUR CONTROLS AND CHOICES
    • We provide you the ability to exercise certain controls and choices regarding our collection, use and sharing of your information. In accordance with applicable law, your controls and choices may include:
      • You may correct, update and delete your registration Account
      • Subject to any specific terms to the contrary, you may change your choices of subscriptions, newsletters and alerts
      • You may choose whether to receive from us offers and promotions for our products and services
      • You may choose whether we share your personal information with third parties so they can send you offers and promotions about their products and services
      • You can choose whether to receive targeted advertising from many ad networks, data exchanges, marketing analytics and other services providers here
      • You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and that we amend or delete it and we request third parties with whom we have shared the information to do the same.
    • You may exercise your controls and choices, or request access to your personal information, by logging into your Account, unsubscribing from the link in an email received, contacting us at customer.service@csmpublishing.com.
  8. GLOBAL PRIVACY PRACTICES
    • We may operate globally and may transfer your personal information to third parties in locations around the world for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. Wherever your personal information is transferred, stored, or processed by us, or third parties on our behalf, we will take reasonable steps to safeguard the privacy of your personal information. Additionally, when using or disclosing personal information transferred from the European Union, we abide by the Safe Harbor Principles as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce, use standard contract clauses approved by the European Commission, adopt other means under European Union law for ensuring adequate safeguards, or obtain your consent.
  9. ONLINE TRACKING AND ADVERTISING
    • We and certain service providers operating on our behalf, or with whom we may partner or affiliate, may collect information about your activity on the “Services” using tracking technologies such as browser cookies and flash cookies. The following describes how we use these browser and flash cookies, and what choices you have with respect to disabling or managing them.

    • Some cookies are essential in order to enable you to navigate through our Services. Without these cookies, the Services cannot be provided. Your consent is not required for our use of these cookies because they are necessary for us to provide the Services.
    • Performance and Functionality cookies
    • We (or service providers operating on our behalf) may place performance or functionality cookies on your device. The information collected using our performance cookies is used only by us or for our benefit. Our performance cookies collect anonymous information about how you use our Services, e.g, which pages you visit most often, if you open communications we send, and which advertisements you view on our Services or on websites on which our advertisements appear.     • Third-party targeted advertising cookies collect information about your browsing activity across multiple websites and online services in order to provide you with relevant advertisements on our Services and the websites of third parties. Ad networks may share this information with the advertisers using their network. We may also use these cookies on our Services in connection with our content and advertisements that appear on third party websites to recognize that you’ve viewed or interacted with our content or advertisements so we can show you advertisements for products that we believe will be of interest to you. The information collected using these third-party advertising cookies or our advertising cookies does not identify you personally; however, if you have an Account with us, the information collected by us using our targeted advertising cookies may be associated with your registration account.
    • The organization setting the cookie (either the third party or us) is responsible for obtaining consent. By using our Services, you indicate your consent to our use of advertising cookies.
    • We will not share your Account information with third parties unless you give us permission.
    • Disabling/enabling cookies
    • There are several ways for you to manage cookies and other tracking technologies.

If you disable Flash cookies, you won’t have access to many features that make your guest experience more efficient and some of our services will not function properly.
    • Targeted advertising
    • You may choose whether to receive targeted advertising from many ad networks, data exchanges, marketing analytics and other services providers here.
  10. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
    • Our website is a general audience site, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
  11. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY NOTICE
    • At any time, we may make changes to this Privacy Notice. If we make changes to this Privacy Notice, we will post the amended Privacy Notice (with date of such changes) on the CSM Services. We may also, in our sole discretion, notify you of such amendment by sending you an e-mail at the last e-mail address that you provided us. And, we may request that you affirmatively accept any amended Privacy Notice in order to continue using the CSM Services, e.g., via a click-accept box. If you do not agree to any change to this Privacy Notice, you must discontinue using the CSM Services. Please note that, at all times, you are responsible for updating your personal information to provide us your current e-mail address. In the event that the last e-mail address that you have provided us is not valid, or for any other reason is not capable of delivering to you the notice described above, our dispatch of the e-mail containing such notice will nonetheless constitute effective notice of any amendment described in the notice.
