STEPHEN SIMPSON
President
Pastor Stephen Simpson serves as President of Charles Simpson Ministries and Editor of One-to-One Magazine. He leads CSM’s continuing mission of Restoring the Generational Bridge—honoring a rich spiritual legacy while equipping emerging generations of Christian leaders and believers.
At age 17, Stephen surrendered to God’s call to become an encourager and networker. Since 1981, he has served through publishing, street and mercy ministry, youth ministry, camps, small groups, missions, church planting, pastoral leadership, and international speaking.
Stephen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Spring Hill College in 1984. He later pursued postgraduate studies at Reformed Theological Seminary and Liberty Ministry Training Institute. Early in his career, he served as an editorial assistant for New Wine Magazine and as an audio engineer for Integrity Communications.
In 1987, Stephen became editor of Christian Conquest Magazine, now One-to-One Magazine. He also served as an associate editor of The Covenant and the Kingdom Bible study curriculum.
Stephen has served churches and ministries in Costa Rica, Florida, Mississippi, Texas, Michigan, and Alabama. From 2004 to 2013, he was Senior Pastor of Covenant Church of Mobile. He continues to teach, write, encourage leaders, and minister throughout North America and internationally.
Stephen lives in the Mobile, Alabama, area with his wife, Susanne. They have one adult daughter.

CHARLES SIMPSON (1937–2024)
Charles “Brother Charles” Simpson was an internationally recognized author, Bible teacher, pastor, and pioneering leader whose ministry touched generations around the world.
Born in New Orleans in 1937, Charles was raised in a pastor’s home in Louisiana and southern Alabama. He answered God’s call to ministry in 1955 at age 18 and became pastor of a Baptist church in Mobile two years later. He earned his bachelor’s degree from William Carey College in 1959 and attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Following a profound spiritual renewal in 1964, Charles began traveling and teaching internationally. He became widely recognized as a pioneer in the modern Charismatic Renewal Movement.
In 1969, Charles helped launch New Wine Magazine, serving alongside respected Bible teachers including Don Basham, Ern Baxter, Bob Mumford, and Derek Prince. He also helped establish Covenant Church of Mobile in 1973 and later served on the board of Integrity Media from 1985 to 2011.
Charles authored numerous books, including Courageous Living, The Challenge to Care, Ants, Vines and Churches, and Straight Answers to 21 Honest Questions About Prayer. He served as Senior Editor of The Covenant and the Kingdom Bible study curriculum and contributed commentary to the Spirit-Filled Life Bible. In 1998, he received an honorary doctorate from the American Center for Theological Studies.
Brother Charles became a spiritual father and trusted mentor to pastors and ministry leaders throughout the world. His humor, storytelling, wisdom, and prophetic insight communicated timeless biblical truth with warmth and clarity.
Charles passed away on February 14, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn, who passed away in 2008. His life and ministry continue to bear fruit through his family, the leaders he mentored, his extensive teaching archives, and the ongoing work of Charles Simpson Ministries.
