Freedom

This tiny little hummingbird flew inside of our garage yesterday. Despite the wide open door, it couldn’t find its way out. It began to panic and exhaust itself trying to escape. It was flying into objects. We were concerned for its safety. Poor thing!

My wife lovingly and patiently helped the hummingbird. She held up a broom, the bird landed on the broom, and she gently carried it outside. The bird flew away to freedom!

Sometimes, we find ourselves trapped in a bad situation, and we begin to panic. We cannot see the open door. We become frantic and exhausted. Our own efforts could result in serious injury to ourselves or others.

But, we have a loving Heavenly Father Who is watching out for us. We only need to take His outstretched hand and allow Him to lead us to safety and freedom. He loves us so much, in fact, that He sent Jesus to live among us to not only show us the way, but to make the way.

If you feel a bit like that little bird, look for the hand of the Lord today. Listen for His voice. He is here for you, and you are not alone.
